Weather Alerts

Winter alerts are appearing across many regions to end the week.

The lake effect snow machine will continue this weekend along the Great Lakes, including northeastern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania and western and central New York on Wednesday. An additional foot of snow will be possible in central NY through Sunday.

The next winter storm enters the west with Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings for parts of the Rockies.

Winter Storm Watches have been issued for the Central Plains and Tennessee Valley ahead of this weekend's impactful system.

 

 

High Temperatures Today

Cold Canadian air has brought northern parts of the Midwest into the teens and 20s Friday. Even the Southeast will see below average weather for the day. Mild weather continues in the Southern Plains and Desert Southwest.

 

Low Temperatures Tonight

The Southeast U.S. is running below normal tonight with temperatures falling below freezing. Some parts of the Northern Plains will fall below zero for the first time this season.

 

Precipitation Outlook

Lake effect snow will continue off of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. A passing system will lead to more snow and rain in the Central Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic.

The next system moves onshore in the Pacific Northwest leading to additional snowfall and valley rain. This system will become the impactful winter storm in the Central Plains to Tennessee Valley this weekend.
