TROTWOOD, Ohio — The City of Trotwood is inviting residents to take part in a day of service to help clean up the community.

On Saturday, May 3, volunteers can help remove litter and trash. The cleanups will be along East Main Street to clean up the Broadmoor and Old Towne neighborhoods. The city will provide gloves, trash bags and safety vests.

The cleanup will start at 10 a.m. at the Trotwood Government Center, 3035 Olive Rd.

The city encourages residents to also walk through their neighborhoods and clean up any litter they find. The city also asks volunteers to help education others on proper trash disposal and litter prevention.

"When you volunteer to help clean up our community, you make a tremendous difference. Strengthen community ties and unite to keep our great City of Trotwood beautiful," the city wrote in a release.
