CINCINNATI — Christmas fanatics on the hunt for holiday festivities won’t have to look very far as the annual Cincinnati's Nights of Lights show is shinning bright across the region.

What You Need To Know

  • The annual "Cincinnati's Nights of Lights" show has returned and is the biggest drive-thru light show in the region

  • It's the first year the show is being held at the Clermont County Fairgrounds

  • The show was moved after Coney Island closed last year

The drive-thru show has more than 2 million lights on display. For its ninth season, the show has been moved to its new home over at the Clermont County Fairgrounds.

Organizers said prep time was around six months, followed by another six weeks of setting up. It’s the biggest drive-thru light show in the region and has become a tradition for thousands of people.

There’s also a charitable component, as proceeds go to support organizations like Toys For Tots.

Keeping tradition alive is what organizers hope will bring out light enthusiasts despite the location change. The event was previously held at Cincinnati’s historic Coney Island, which is now set to be turned into an entertainment venue.

“We were forced to find a new location. We did a lot of research. We looked at 20 different properties, at least within the area and the Tri-State area,” Queen City Light Show Vice President Brent McClellan said. “The last two years especially have been excellent, positive years. Again, we love Christmas.”

The tradition of the show being held at Coney Island dates back to 2016. The final show was held there last year before the park closed. Organizers hope the new space will crack down on congestion and said it gives them more room to grow the event in the future.

For the first time this year, guests can take advantage of timed ticketing in 30-minute slots. As you drive in, you’re also encouraged to turn your radio to 97.5 FM to tune in to the show's soundtrack.

The show runs nightly from 5-10 p.m. through Sunday, Jan. 5.
