MANSFIELD, Ohio — This year, the iconic movie "Shawshank Redemption" will have its 30th anniversary, and the city of Mansfield is planning a huge celebration for the milestone.

"Shawshank Redemption" was filmed at the historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield as well as other locations, and the shuttered prison pays an ode to the film each year by having props displayed during its self-guided tours, celebrations, a "Shawshank Redemption" run and more. This year, the city is going all out.

From Aug. 8 to Aug 11, visitors can attend tours of more than a dozen filming sites in and around Mansfield, as well as meet with the actors, photo ops, screenings and panel discussions with the writer, director, actors and more.

Tickets are on sale now, and a schedule of events can be found here.

Additionally, the Ohio State Reformatory and other filming sites will still be available during the weekend. More information can be found here.
