COLUMBUS, Ohio — Winter weather advisories have been issued for Monday and Tuesday in multiple regions of Ohio.
Hazardous weather may impact driving conditions and cause other safety concerns.
In southwest and areas of central Ohio, an advisory is in effect Monday at noon until Tuesday at noon. The area may see 2-4 inches of snow.
Precipitation is expected to begin as rain that will change into snow Monday afternoon. Snow accumulations Monday will be mainly confined to grassy and elevated surfaces as pavement and air temperatures will start out above freezing. As temperatures drop below freezing Monday night, slick spots will develop on untreated surfaces. Snow is expected to taper off by Tuesday afternoon.
In northern and northwestern Ohio, a winter weather advisory will be in effect Monday at 4 p.m. until Tuesday at 9 p.m.
Snowfall in the area is expected to total 4-6 inches.
Rain will transition to snow Monday afternoon into the evening hours. Gusty winds of up to 30 miles per hour will be possible. Snow will diminish from west to east Tuesday afternoon and evening.
In northeast Ohio, a winter-storm watch is in effect from Monday evening through Wednesday morning.
Heavy snow is possible in the area with a potential for more than eight inches of snow with a possibility of more than 12 inches in higher terrain.
Rain will transition to snow early Monday night. Gusty winds of up to 30 mph will be possible. Snow will diminish from west to east during the day Wednesday.
