During National Small Business Week, In Focus host, Mike Kallmeyer, sat down to talk with Congressman Greg Landsman (D) about how he advocates for Ohio business owners.

Landsman serves on the House Committee on Small Businesses in Washington D.C. He talked about the labor shortage and its impact on businesses.

Emphasizing trade school opportunities appears to be one way to help with that labor shortage.

“Going through a program that allows you to get to work much more quickly and less expensively, makes a big difference. And that is part of the connection that we are trying to make between our small businesses and these programs,” he said.

Equitable lending is also a top priority for Landsman.

“I think the biggest issue across the board is access to affordable capital. . . we need to help our small businesses navigate through the SBA and other lending services to ensure they are getting the best most affordable loan,” he said.
