Numerous weekend events across the Southland have been postponed, canceled or revised ahead of Sunday’s expected landfall of Hurricane Hilary — and more events figure to join the list.

People with travel plans were urged to check websites and social media for updates.

Striking members of the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America have canceled planned picket lines scheduled for Monday.

Here’s a roundup of other activities that have been altered or put on hold as the Southland braces for the storm:

Concerts and events

  • CicLAvia: The planned “CicLAvia — Koreatown Meets Hollywood” was canceled Friday. “While CicLAvia has always gone on rain or shine, the weather on Sunday is just too unpredictable,” organizers said in a statement.“The forecast indicates that heavy rain will not fall until later in the day on Sunday, but for the safety of everyone coming from near and far, CicLAvia-Koreatown meets Hollywood has been canceled.”
  • Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions will be held on a virtual basis from 3-8 p.m. at twitch.tv/grandpark_la. The event will be headlined by DJ Rich Medina with virtual offerings from DJ Roxcizzle, Lacey IQ, the Texas-born, Los Angeles-settled electronic music creator, remixer and DJ, KG Superstar and DJ Adé.
  • The park team was prepared to undertake numerous precautions to allow the event to proceed on Sunday. However, with input from its safety and security partners, including the intelligence and data from the National Weather Service’s precise monitoring system, the park team determined the closure was in the best interest of all onsite.
  • Sunday’s planned Guatemalan music concert at Levitt Pavilion in McArthur Park featuring Sara Curruchich, DJ Boris and Los Chapincitos Los Angeles has been canceled.
  • Los Angeles High School's 150th anniversary celebration, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, was postponed indefinitely.
  • The Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach will temporarily close the festival’s Fine Art Show and cancel Pageant of the Masters performances on Sunday and Monday.
  • Rapper Michael Franti and metal band Spearhead’s planned Sunday concert at The Greek Theatre is postponed until Sept. 15.
  • The rock band My Morning Jacket’s Sunday concert at the Hollywood Bowl is postponed until Aug. 28.
  • The rock band Chicago’s sold-out Sunday show at Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa has been rescheduled for Sept. 5.
  • Interstellar Experience, which was set to wrap up Sunday in San Pedro, has been canceled
  • KCRW’s Summer Nights show at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed until Sept. 10.

Sports

  • LAFC: The Los Angeles Football Club-Colorado Rapids game scheduled for Sunday has been postponed to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets purchased for Sunday’s match will be honored for the rescheduled game on Wednesday.
  • Galaxy: Sunday’s game between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Real Salt Lake at Dignity Health Sports Park has been rescheduled for Oct. 14. The rescheduled game will also include the induction of the late coach Sigi Schmid into the club’s Ring of Honor as had been planned for Sunday. Tickets originally purchased for the Sunday date will be honored for the rescheduled date.
  • The University of Southern California women’s soccer match against Georgia, originally scheduled for Sunday at noon, has been canceled. No makeup date will be set for the non-conference competition. All fans who have purchased tickets will be given an automatic refund and a complimentary ticket to the match on Sunday, Oct. 8, against Oregon State.
  • Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress canceled its Sunday night race card and will be closed all day.
  • Dodgers/Angels: Both teams’ planned Sunday games were played as part of split doubleheaders Saturday. The Dodgers swept their doubleheader against the Miami Marlins at noon and 6:10 p.m. Saturday. The Angels beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6 during the first game and lost the evening game 18-4.

Local attractions

  • The Magic Castle will close Sunday for both brunch and dinner.
  • Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor were closed Sunday.
  • Knott's Berry Farm and Knott's Soak City were closed Sunday.
  • Disneyland will close at 10 p.m. and California Adventure at 9 p.m. Sunday, but park officials were "closely monitoring Hurricane Hilary and making adjustments based on the latest information from the National Weather Service."
  • Raging Waters will be closed Sunday. People with tickets can use them some other time, officials said.
  • Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk remained open Sunday, but officials said they were also closely monitoring events and would announce any changes.
  • The Los Angeles Zoo will be closed Sunday and Monday.

Parks

  • The Bailey Canyon Trail and Mount Wilson Trail will be closed.

Los Angeles County officials announced Saturday that all county parks, buildings and facilities would be closed Sunday and Monday, including, but not limited to:

  • Picnic shelters
  • Playgrounds
  • Multi-use trails
  • Restrooms
  • Botanical gardens and arboretums
  • Lakes and swim beaches
  • Pools and aquatic centers
  • Natural areas and nature centers
  • Performance venues

While the parks are not fenced in, visitors are encouraged to stay home.
