DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (CNS) — The South Coast Air Quality Management District Friday issued an ozone advisory for much of the South Coast Air Basin and Coachella Valley due to the heat wave.
The advisory will be in effect through 10 p.m. Monday.
Levels of ground-level smog may reach the very unhealthy level at times through Monday in parts of the South Coast Air Basin, according to Nahal Mogharabi, the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s director of communications.
Ozone levels will be highest in inland areas, including the Lake Arrowhead area, San Bernardino Valley and nearby areas.
Ozone levels may reach the unhealthy or higher level in other areas of the South Coast Air Basin and the Coachella Valley, Mogharabi said.
