Deep surface moisture has returned to nearly all parts of Texas heading into Sunday. This will mean low clouds and patchy fog early in the day for most places.

By afternoon, a weak cold front will sweep across north Texas, scouring out the moisture there. As that boundary slides southward Sunday evening, it will encounter some deeper moisture present in central Texas.

A low chance of strong storms is forecast for that area Sunday evening, from Waco to Austin down to San Marcos. While chances are limited, a few strong storms may form with some large hail and damaging winds.

Should any storms occur, they’ll swiftly dissipate as they move eastward by Monday.

Through mid-week, quiet weather prevails. But by Wednesday, unorganized upper disturbances will pass over Texas with the best rain chances seen in some time through the end of the week.

Significant rain would go a long way to reduce fire risk and drought conditions.
