After plenty of sunshine Friday, we're expecting thickening clouds overnight into Saturday with a chance for a few flurries. Overnight lows will be in the teens with wind chills in the single digits.
Saturday gives us a chance of snow showers, with light accumulations state-wide. In fact, we'll see several clippers come through to give us a shot at some snow throughout Saturday into Sunday. Highs will increase to near freezing by Sunday.
Warmer temperatures will move into the region ahead of our next, more powerful system Monday. A wintry mix will change to all snow Monday into Tuesday, providing us with accumulating snow. Several inches may pile up Tuesday, as temperatures plummet.
The big story: Polar air moving in for the middle of next week. While the snow may shut off, temperatures could be well below zero, with wind chill values in the -20 to -30 range (and that's being slightly conservative!) Dangerously cold weather for next week, so make sure you have your pipes wrapped, pets secured inside and working heat. Stay tuned.
