EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The Glendale Fire Department battled a small vegetation fire Sunday night of about a quarter of an acre fire started in the 2100 block of Haven Street, off of the 2 Freeway in Glendale.
The brush fire, dubbed the Mountain Fire, started after 7:30 p.m. causing the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert blocking all lanes south of Fern Lane on the southbound 2 Freeway. By 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the CHP extended the SigAlert for another two hours, the public was asked to use the 210 Freeway or Verdugo Road as alternative routes.
