CLEVELAND — Strap on your helmet, rev your engine, and ride straight to a special museum. Open Road: The Lure of Motorcycling in Ohio opens Saturday, April 16 at the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum.

John Lutsch, the museum’s marketing and program manager, said the exhibit is intended to honor Ohio’s motorcycling community.

“What we are trying to do here is really engage the motorcycling community,” said Lutsch. “We want to honor them and their commitment to these bikes and bring them into the fold of objects worthy of museum display.”

The collection features a variety of bikes, all with ties to the Buckeye State. Motorcycle enthusiasts can stop in to check out touring bikes, racing bikes, adventure bikes and more. Included in the collection is a special racing bike built by Ohio native Tyler Malinky. Malinky set two world speed records while riding the custom bike at Bonneville Speed Week.

“The quality of some of these machines is astonishing and it’s something the public never gets to see,” said Lutsch. “So that’s one of our missions to shed light on these really extraordinary motorcycles that you don’t get to see every day.”
