OHIO — The last time Westerville North beat Westerville South in football, it was 2005. None of the current Warrior players were even born yet.
Adding to the excitement of the 3-0 win, the only points came on a 29-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. While that might seem like a chip shot, even in high school, there was a heavy rain and strong winds at the time of the kick. The Wildcats tried a tying field goal in the final minute, but the kick strayed left.
North (4-2) visits Westland next week. The Cougars are one of the surprises of the season in Central Ohio, with a 5-1 record, already the most wins in a season since 2006. South (3-3) takes on Delaware.
