CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department said its narcotics unit seized 25 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, multiple firearms and additional illegal narcotics on Tuesday while executing search warrants stemming from a year-long investigation.
The seizure also led to three arrests.
The investigation began with a citizen complaint about drug activity in March 2024, which eventually led officials to dismantle an organization that has been supplying drugs to neighborhoods on Cleveland's west side.
The search warrants were executed in the 3200 block of West 131st Street and on McGowen Avenue, the department said.
“This case is a testament to the dedication and persistence of our investigators who work tirelessly every day to get dangerous criminals off of our streets and keep illegal drugs out of our neighborhoods,” said Cuyahoga County Sheriff Harold Pretel. “There is no room in our community for this type of activity – we will remain vigilant and follow through on every lead to protect our residents.”
Throughout the investigation, the department has confiscated a total of 28 pounds of methamphetamines, 2,443 grams of cocaine, 480 grams of fentanyl pills, 247 grams of heroin, more than $20,000 in U.S. currency and two firearms in this case.
