Consolidated Theatres Kapolei presents “Honoring Gene Hackman,” a selection of the late actor’s iconic films from March 21 through March 27. Tickets will be available for four of his movies for $10.

The actor’s standout films come from the 1970s to 1990s:

“I Never Sand for My Father” (1970)

  • A man living in the towering shadow of his aging father finds it difficult to start a new chapter in his life as he marries his girlfriend and moves to California

“The Conversation” (1974)

  • A paranoid, secretive surveillance expert has a crisis of conscience when he suspects the couple he is spying on will be murdered

“Hoosiers” (1986)

  • A coach with a checkered past and a local drunk train a small-town high school basketball team to become a top contender for the state championship in 1950s Indiana

“The Birdcage” (1996)

  • A gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so their son can introduce them to his fiancée’s right-wing, conservative parents

“Last month, Hollywood lost an extraordinary talent with the passing of the beloved Gene Hackman. His contributions to film and storytelling remain timeless,” said Consolidated Theatres Promotions and Events Manager Jenna Mimaki in a release. “Through this series, we honor his remarkable career, the unforgettable characters he brought to life, and his great dedication to his craft.”

Hackman, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead with one of their dogs on Feb. 27 in their Santa Fe home.
