COLUMBUS, Ohio — It's been nearly a week since the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated Notre Dame in the National Championship in Atlanta.
The team was honored in front of their fans Sunday.
The free event at Ohio Stadium was open to everyone. This is the first team appearance since they won the Championship. And what a run these Buckeyes went on to win. The team beat six of the AP poll's top 10 throughout the season, the first team in history to win more than four games against top 10 opponents in a single season.
Fans say they wanted to come out to support this Buckeye team that has cemented itself in Ohio State and college football history.
"It was just a magical moment for us," Ohio State fan Brooks Kelly said. "The fans like getting to finally see, after that hard Michigan loss we had, because I was here for that two loss to Michigan and it was like, 'oh man, what is this team going to do'? Like, are you going to make it in the playoffs this year? So to get that opportunity and then to finally fly out to Oregon and then finally get the chance to actually play and meet face to face, I knew this team had it in them, you know what I mean? Like, I always knew that we had...what it took to win and just to see that play out on the field was amazing."
