"Seeds of Caring" is a nonprofit designed to give kids the chance to give back through different volunteering opportunities.
Lilly Brownfield, 9, helped wrap Christmas gifts for foster kids at one their events.
"They have homes,” Brownfield said, “but they maybe don't have gifts, so we're giving them gifts."
Program manager Julianna Hausman is one of the organizers, and she said they involve kids for a reason.
"It's really important starting at a really young age,” Hausman said, “building those empathy skills and also just knowing that that their time and their energy can be toward something that creates a bigger impact in the community, that we can all use help sometimes and we can all give some help sometimes."
Meanwhile, Brownfield's excited for the day these presents get opened, hoping her wrapping skills impress, as she spreads some holiday cheer along the way.
