  • Hundreds of millions of people across the globe are turning to vacation rental homes while traveling, instead of booking hotels

“We thought, ‘Hey, why don't we pick three of our 13 properties and let's turn them into pop-up-themed Christmas houses,'" Brian said.

The couple are Cleveland area born-and-raised and said they’re bringing local culture, unique amenities and the comfort of home that other vacation rentals don’t offer.

As millions of people are booking flights and driving across the country to celebrate the holidays, many of them are staying at vacation rentals instead of hotels. According to Airbnb’s latest report, the company welcomes more than 2 billion arrivals at all times and have over 8 million active listings worldwide.

The Harps said its a busy time of the year for their business as their three Christmas houses are becoming a home for hundreds of travelers and their loved ones during the holidays.

“Our focus is is just not not only creating a place to stay but creating a memorable, unique spot for families, friends [and] get togethers to enjoy their time, but obviously enjoy the holidays at the same time,” Brian said.

He said Harp Housing is welcoming people from inside and outside of the state.

“We've definitely noticed an intake of inquiries because of our houses, because they're Christmas themed,” he said.

Jennifer said they’re drawing guests into the heart of the city this December and all year round.

“One thing about this house is that it's close to the 'Christmas Story' house, and if you're a Clevelander, you know how big that is,” she said. “The leg lamp is very well known around here, so, of course, we had to put the leg lamp in our house.”

Whether its the holidays, football season or summer time, Brian said they’re in it for the long-run.

“It's more than just a side hustle,” Brian said. “It's showing people that haven't been to Cleveland how awesome it is here.”
