  • Zachary Stumpf: One count of aggravated arson

“None of us can look at a scene like that and even begin to understand what happened," said City Manager Sheryl Long. "But the experts in CFD are the best in the business, and I am so thankful to them for their hard work in identifying and arresting the perpetrators."

Stiles and Stumpf are each being held on $1 million bond while Hall and Hamilton are each being held on $60,000 cash bond.

Officials said they do not know the motive or intent of the fire and are still investigating what was used to start it. The fire broke out during the early morning hours of Nov. 1, damaging both the southbound lanes of the bridge and the playground underneath, known as Sawyer Point Park. That day, all lanes were closed until the afternoon when the northbound lanes reopened.

“While the investigation is still ongoing and certain sensitive details cannot be released, CFD FIU Investigators share they were able to gather critical information in this case through phone records, license plate data, video camera footage, and interviews,” said Fire Chief Frank McKinley.

Nobody was injured in the fire, authorities said.

CFD said the investigation is ongoing and urges those with any information that can help investigators to call CrimeStoppers at 513-352-3040.
