Community and military leaders are discussing and sharing information about military installations, industries, academic institutions and local defense communities.

One focus will be on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the economic growth it’s experienced over the years and how that makes the region attractive to companies outside of Ohio.

Officials will also discuss how to fund the base’s main runway.

“Our real top priority for Wright-Patt now is money for that runway, for reasons of safety, reasons of efficiency, and that will be high on our agenda. Also, some issues on PFAS that we’re working with the military on that affects quality of life in the Miami Valley,” said Senator Sherrod Brown.

Other topics for the forum and panels will focus on expanding research capabilities, growing talent and workforce initiatives, and attracting more industries to the region.
