  • She founded a group called ‘Let’s Talk Social’ that creates safe spaces for women

Jordyn Peaks has a new zest for life after hitting a rough spot several years ago.

Peaks said she was in a five-year toxic relationship when she attempted to take her own life. She was only 21.

“Even going through things like being verbally abused or psychologically abused,” she said, “I got to the breaking point where I literally couldn’t take it anymore. And so I overdosed on over 32 prescription pills, plus a stomach full of alcohol, and had to be rushed to the ER.”

But the pain wasn’t over.

“From 17 to 28,” she said, “I would be depressed, I would be anxious, and I would even have suicidal ideation.”

But with the help of therapy, she was able to recover and now is focused on helping others do the same. She founded a group called ‘Let’s Talk Social’ that creates safe spaces for women. She also wrote a book, letting women know they’re not alone.

“It’s something that’s important to me,” Peaks said. “Not just because it’s an extension of my story, but because I firmly believe that suicide is preventable by way of people being honest about their experiences.”

Peaks said she has helped around 2,000 women since ‘Let’s Talk Social’ began in 2022, reminding them to stay strong, no matter what.

“There is hope for what it is they’re going through,” Peaks said. “I know a lot of times in the moment it can look like, ‘Dang, I’m the only one,’ or ‘Nobody understands,’ but there truly is hope. And if God did it for me, I know that he’s able to do it for other women as well.”
