COLUMBUS, Ohio — Capital University, located in the suburbs of Columbus, is trying their best to bring more students to their institution by making the transfer process is a little easier.

What You Need To Know

  • Capital University created a new tuition match program for transfer students

  • To apply you must be currently enrolled in a Ohio private nonprofit college or university

  • The deadline to apply for this fall is Aug. 19th

“Any student currently enrolled or accepted in an Ohio private nonprofit college or university. What we do is invite them to transfer to capital and we will match the net tuition that they’re paying at their current institution,” said the President of Capital University, Dave Kaufman.

Creating the tuition transfer match program to make Capital University, a small private institution, appear financially strong.

“Part of the thinking here was there’s been so much publicity around private institutions, small privates having financial challenges, and the students questioning their commitments to those institutions. Capital is financially strong,” said Kaufman.

This is the first year Capital University has initiated a program like this. Currently, Capital University doesn’t have any specifics as to how the program is being received. But President Kaufman says he’s happy about Capital University getting more attention because of this program.

“Where the initial take was we’re really pleased with, you know, the attention has gotten and the fit with the student need right now,” said Kaufman.
