DAYTON, Ohio — Thirty-four years ago, The Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law to protect the rights of people with disabilities from discrimination.

For the third year, a large group of supporters came together in Dayton for a Disability Pride Rally.

It was hosted by the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services.

The rally helps people express pride in who they are and promotes inclusion and advocacy in society.

“It is so important. Those with disabilities represent the largest minority in the United States. Those with disabilities contribute so significantly in their communities,” said Dr. Pamela Combs, Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services CEO.

The rally included several keynote speakers who talked about their outreach and work.

The Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services provides support and funding to nearly 6,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Dayton region.
