HAMILTON, Ohio — Crews continue to search for someone who may have drowned in the Great Miami River near Joyce Park in Hamilton.

Emergency crews have searching for several hours following a 911 call Thursday morning. Emergency personnel were using sonar to try and find the individual.

Mike Matala, with the Butler County Sheriff’s emergency response unit, said they began the search following the initial call.

“It was (an) individual that was down by the water, by himself,” he said. “We've had crews on the water attempting to locate any signs of a person or a target."

Officials said the search would continue until further notice.
