COLERAIN — Two people hve been hosptialized after a officer-involved shooting at a Kroger in southwest Ohio on Wednesday.

The Colerain Police Department said the shooting happened at a Kroger on Springdale Road. They responded to shots fired on Wednesday before 4 p.m., and when they arrived, the situation escalated, they said.

Police said there were two suspects involved in the shooting. At one point, a police officer got involved and fired his gun. One of the suspects tried to flee, but both were detained.

Two people were transported to the University of Cincinnati hospital with gunshot wounds. The shooting is currently under investigation and it is unclear whether the people who were transported to the hospital were the suspects. Police said the officer is OK.

Colerain police gave the all clear Wednesday afternoon for people to remove their cars from the Kroger parking lot, but said the store will remain closed as the investigation continues.
