CLEVELAND — Organizers of Little Italy’s annual summer art walk are inviting the community to experience a diverse array of artistic mediums throughout the weekend.
The annual event has been taking place in the historic Cleveland neighborhood for more than three decades.
Joe Marinucci, the executive director of Little Italy redevelopment corporation, explained that the neighborhood is home to more than 25 different art galleries that will all be on display during the art walk.
Marinucci added that new this year, the event will feature guest artists from Cleveland Bazaar at the Murray Hill Schoolhouse.
“Art is important to the Italian culture,” Marinucci explained. “Artists give the community and the neighborhood a vibrancy, I mentioned the restaurants which give one level of vibrancy, and the artists bring a different type of energy which blends well with the residential base of the neighborhood.”
Tara Seibel is one of the artists participating in this years art walk, and she has also designed the flyers for the event for the last several years.
Seibel explained that the art walk is an exciting time for artists, like herself to connect with the community.
“Meet the artist, get some good food in Little Italy, hear the church bells ringing, its all very magical here in this neighborhood,” Seibel said.
The art walk takes place:
- Friday: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
