OHIO — Getting connected to emergency mental health and addiction services might be a challenge now for some residents in southwest Ohio. That is because the Montgomery County Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Health Service Board is no longer offering local crisis services.

What You Need To Know

  • The Montgomery County Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services is no longer offering the Crisis Now hotline or operating the mobile crisis response team

  • Service provivder RI International parted ways because of financial reasons

  • Anyone experiencing a mental health crisis is encouraged to call the 988 hotline

As of Thursday, the provider of the Crisis Now hotline and Mobile Crisis Response parted ways with the county for financial reasons, and with the board voting down two new service provider proposals during a meeting on Wednesday, it is uncertain if or when those services will start back up.

“While we don't have those services available in our community right now, we believe that with some coming around the community together to have conversations, we'll be able to help people understand what this need really is,” said Helen Jones-Kelley, executive director of the Montgomery County ADAMHS.

With services down, Montgomery County residents are encouraged to call or text the 988 suicide and crisis hotline or call 911 they are experiencing an emergency.
