CLEVELAND — Cleveland Clinic opened a new Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center last month.
Kim Litten is one of the navigators for the new program.
“We have the means to help women and I think every woman deserves to have that help,” she said.
The center is focused mostly on women in their 50s and above, many of them who are going through menopause. Litten explained that they can help women with many of their health issues.
“If they’re talking to us and they’re having an issue with thyroid or maybe they’re having an issue with weight, we can navigate them to those kinds of services,” she said.
Litten and the other navigators take calls from women who are looking for care and help them make appointments with doctors who specialize in their needs. Along the way of training for this role, Litten made a discovery about her own health. She discovered that she has heart issues that are due to a hysterectomy she had.
“I found out information that I would have never known,” she said.
Litten encouraged women to call the center if they need help and that it’s the first start to getting yourself to feel better.
