CLEVELAND — Some are calling it a vinyl revival.

According to the New York Times, “vinyl records are now the music industry’s most popular and highest-grossing physical format.”

Allen Wagner, the owner of Late Nite Records, said he believes that the growing interest surrounding the vintage music format will make for an exciting Record Store Day. It is an annual event hosted at record stores around the country.

Stores receive special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products made exclusively for the day, and many stores also organize special events and deals.

“It’s one of two days of the year that they ship out special pressings of records. Some are very limited. Some of them I probably won’t even get from them, and it's just kind of the luck of the draw,” Wagner said. “A lot of people line up, so I’m sure I will open up the door to tons of smiling faces. I’m hoping the weather is good this year.”
