NEW ALBANY, Ohio — We all remember the subjects in elementary school—like math, science and reading, but how about engineering?
That’s exactly what a preschool in Ohio is teaching, and, with Intel moving in, it could start paving the way for the company’s future workforce.

Parker Rose Anthony is four years old, and numbers are her thing.
“I love counting,” she said.
The Learning Experience Center in New Albany is teaching preschoolers like Rose Anthony, about engineering. It’s part of the school’s new enrichment program “Little Engineers.”
Teacher Shamyiah Anderson said they’re learning with toy cars and ramps.
“We’re bringing it into the classroom,” she said. “So, with them learning their motor skills and seeing that friction or that velocity going on, it is implementing the little ways of them, seeing how the structures are, seeing how they can be built, and just doing all that in our own little way.”
With intel moving in, Anderson said teaching these skills now is more important than ever.
“Everything in life needs experience,” Anderson said. “And if they grow up and say, ‘Hey, I remember how to do this?’ Intel could then open up a door for them, and they already know how to prepare for. So, I feel like with them having this experience, having this learning that they’re doing, Intel could be a really big path for them.”
Rose Anthony could have a bright future at Intel, but she has other dreams at the moment.
“I want to be a fairy,” she said.
