OHIO — Gov. Mike DeWine visited Logan County Friday, after three people died from a tornado there Thursday night. The storm also left dozens injured and destroyed homes and businesses.

Other storm also tore roofs off some other buildings. Trees lined the street and power lines were hanging Friday morning. Yards were filed with branches, fences were knocked down, and furniture was everywhere.

Cleanup crews were out collecting trees and debris.

Lakeview resident Christina Smayda, whose house was damaged, said it is one of the scariest experiences she has ever had.

Smayda was one of several people who received donations that have already come in from the community. The donations are being distributed at Indian Lake High School.

“I know people that have been through tornadoes,” Smayda said. “I don't wish it on anybody. It's like having a car accident or losing a child, you know. I wouldn't wish that on anybody.”

“We've already started talking among ourselves about some of the things that we can do to be of help,” DeWine said.

DeWine was one of several state leaders who spoke at Indian Lake High School on Friday.
