CLEVELAND — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame opened its new Revolutionary Women in Music exhibit on Friday.
The Rock Hall hosted a special preview of the exhibit on Thursday night. Lisa Loeb, a singer songwriter who is highlighted in the exhibit, attended the opening.
“I think it’s really important to have an exhibit like this at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during Women’s History month,” she said.
Other musicians who hosted the event include Jane Wiedlin from the Go-Gos, Shirley Manson from Garbage and Malina Moye. Loeb was excited to be a part of it.
“I feel great that I get to be one of the people here supporting music, supporting women in music,” she said.
The Rock Hall said that the exhibit focused on groundbreaking and rebellious musicians, such as Loeb. Other artists in the exhibit include Hayley Williams, Kesha, Billie Ellish and more. Loeb has hopes that people leave the exhibit feeling inspired.
“I think the museum will be especially inspiring to people who are from a different generation who may have forgotten that they might be able to just like somehow pull themselves up and do something,” she said. “Even though it doesn’t matter if they’re a woman or a man or a non-binary person, I think it could really inspire them.”
