COLUMBUS, Ohio — Opinions about fighting in the Middle East are spilling into city halls across Ohio.
Palestinian activists are not slowing their protests calling on leaders in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and other cities across the state to issue resolutions calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas War.
Legal experts say the resolutions are a largely symbolic gesture when they come from the city level, but the level of activism and protests in some meetings raises questions for city leaders about regulating public comments and still carrying through with city business.
City councils in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati have all announced they will not be issuing ceasefire resolutions.
