What You Need To Know

  • Seasonal viruses are affecting many households across the state and country

  • Stomach bugs, strep throat, influenza and more are among the contagious illnesses

  • The constant sickness can impact both the physical and mental health of families

“We break, like we fully break,” Ashley Schrieber said.

The family of five have had a stomach bug, strep throat and the Norovirus.

“It’s been a nightmare,” Ben Schrieber said.

“It’s terrible, truly the worst,” Ashley Schrieber said.

The couple said no matter what they do, it has felt like they can’t prevent the illnesses from spreading in their home.

“At one point, I was getting sick like violently ill, he was getting violently ill and then my oldest daughter started getting violently ill,” Ashley Schrieber said. “Then my middle daughter came in, she was bawling her eyes out at the end of the bed like ‘I don’t want to get this, I don’t want to get this’ like freaking out.”

“Spoiler, she got it,” Ben Schrieber said.

The Schrieber family are dealing with what many other families are dealing with this time of year.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends washing your hands, staying home when you feel ill and drinking lots of fluids.
