COLUMBUS, Ohio — Organizers of the Columbus Auto Show want visitors to think of the event as a family affair.
“When you come down to the auto show, if you’ve never been before, we’ve got about 30 different manufacturers and over 250 vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, classics, electric vehicles, ATVs, a little bit of everything,” said Kelly Danison, director of the Columbus Auto Show.
From luxury vehicles that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to more affordable brands and ATVs, an event of this magnitude doesn’t come together easily, Danison said.
“We definitely start probably about eight months ago and starting to get things moving. And there’s a lot of hands on deck and that we just got to work together to make it come to where we are today,” said Danison.
The Columbus Auto Show is a family event with options for people of all ages. There is a kids’ pit stop area, some cars available to test drive and even a pet adoption center. But Danison says one highlight of the auto show is being able to sit in the cars.
“People, when they see these shiny, they smell good because they’re all detailed, they’re clean, the colors are pretty, and they have so much fun when they come down,” said Danison. “It’s like a family event that they come to year after year. And that’s what brings all the joy.”
The show gives attendees a window shopping experience, and while attendees cannot buy a car there, they can test out as many as they want.
“We represent the new car dealers in the Columbus area. So for us it’s to get people excited about the vehicles, the new technology, the new models that are coming out, and then drive them to a local Columbus auto dealer to make a purchase,” said Danison.
The show will be at the Greater Columbus Convention Center until Sunday and you can order tickets online by clicking here, or purchase them at the door.
