CINCINNATI — Transportation officials held several public hearings this week to provide details and receive feedback about the new Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.

  • On Wednesday, a public input meeting was held to discuss details of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project 

  • The $3.6 billion project will include a companion bridge and widening of I-75 and I-70

  • But with this expansion some businesses and homes will be forced to relocate 

The $3.6 billion project will widen I-75 and I-71. A new double-decker companion bridge will be built as well. But it will also force four homes and 25 businesses to relocate. While some Ohio and Kentucky residents were okay with project, others say they are concerned with the environmental impact it will have.

“Public input is a critical for us,” said Stefan Spinosa, Ohio Department of Transportation Brent Spence Bridge Project Manager. “We do the best we can. We think we get solutions, but the people that live, drive and work in the area, they're the ones that can tell us if we've missed something or if we need to look at something differently. “

The public input meetings are among several others held this week. Construction is expected by begin in 2025.
