COLUMBUS, Ohio — "Disney on Ice" returns to Nationwide Arena in Columbus this weekend.
“It's so fun and it's so magical,” said "Disney On Ice" ensemble skater and Ohio native, Jessica Zink.
Zink is one of three Ohio natives performing in front of family and friends this weekend.
“It’s really magical to be able to perform for your family and them see all the hard work that you put into skating and what it brings to the ice,” said Zink.
Traveling the country as part of one of the most iconic skating shows in the world is a surreal feeling for Cincinnati native Jenna Hertenstein, but she says nothing beats being able to perform for your family and friends.
“It’s amazing. I definitely have a lot of friends and family coming out to support, so that’ll be exciting. And I think the audience is going to be really good here. So I’m excited to perform in Columbus,” said Hertenstein.
It’s a similar feeling for Miamisburg native Jaynee Zink, Jessica’s sister. The host of the show said being able to connect with her family while also sharing what they have worked so hard for is the best feeling.
Jaynee Zink and Jessica Zink have been on this tour together for a few years and used to host the show together.
“We have been touring together ever since we started here at Feld Entertainment. And it’s like having a built in best friend on tour,” said Jaynee Zink.
So who are their favorite characters?
“My favorite Disney character is probably Elsa because I love how she does ice magic. I think it’s really cool,” said Jessica Zink.
“My favorite character is probably Cinderella on this show, just because she’s so iconic. She’s an original Disney princess. And I think that that’s kind of where the magic kind of starts is with Cinderella,” said Hertenstein.
With a combination of that special Disney magic and love for their family and friends, these three Ohio natives say they expect this weekend to be unforgettable. The show runs in Columbus through Sunday and then comes to Cincinnati March 7-10.
