DAYTON, Ohio — As the Dayton Flyers look to get back on track Tuesday against George Washington after their 13-game win streak was snapped over the weekend one young fan is staying faithful to UD.
Vincent Palmer, 3, went viral earlier this year after a video of him announcing the Flyers roster got a lot of attention.
What You Need To Know

- Vincent's parents are both UD alums and huge Flyer basketball fans
- The basketball team even had Vincent announce the starting lineup for the team earlier this season
It’s hard not to smile watching Palmer announce the names of the UD Flyers. The young Flyer fan got the love of this team, thanks to his parents.
“I eat, sleep and breathe Dayton Basketball during the season," said his dad, Nick Palmer.
So much so that the UD alums even had Rudy Flyer at their wedding.
“The Flyers are a big part of our life and it’s obviously stretched down to our kids too now," Nick said.
And when Nick took Vincent to his first game, he knew this was a way to bond with his young son.
“I took him to a game, and he sat on my lap pretty much the entire game and was just mesmerized,” Nick said.
Jane Palmer, Vincent’s mom and a speech-language pathologist, thought of a way for Vincent to learn more about the team.
“He just showed interest when we would go to the games and the players, so I was like, ‘Okay, I can make these for him’ and he loves these little books,” she said.
Now, young Vincent can say the names of the roster in his sleep
“He’s a kid with so much enthusiasm," Jane said. "He’s passionate about the UD Flyers, obviously you can tell and he hears Jeff Stevens do the announcing, and are you and Jeff Stevens buddies now? Yeah!”
His announcing got so much attention from a video posted by UD that the team had him come in to announce the starting lineup ahead of a game.
“UD is just a great school and I love that they did that for him and let him announce the players," Jane said. "That was just such an awesome experience and I feel like not many schools would do something like that.”
While Vincent is still learning the game, he’s enjoying every minute of cheering on his Flyers with his family.
“It’s been fun to share that with him," Nick said. "It’s a passion of mine and to see that carry over to him has been really special.”
