What You Need To Know

  • The Crocker Park Ice Festival kicks off Friday, Jan. 26

  • The three day event will feature live ice sculpture demonstrations, music, vendors and more

  • Ice sculptures created by Elegant Ice Creations will be on display at the event

Costic has perfected his craft, making it possible to transform a 300-pound block of ice into a work of art in just a matter of hours.

“We live in northern Ohio, and there is a lot of great things to do in the winter,” Costic said. “Sitting inside and complaining about it is not one of them. Get out and enjoy what the area has to offer.”

One opportunity to enjoy the beauty of winter is at the Crocker Park Ice Festival, where some of Costic’s creations will be on display.

The three-day event will feature live music, local vendors and live ice sculpting demonstrations.

Costic said one of his favorite things about participating in festivals is the chance to see his art through the eyes of children.

“If you are at an ice festival and you see thousands of kids walking around, zero percent are on their phones,” he said. “They are engaged. You have given them something more important to them than their phone, which is pretty cool. They are going behind photo ops. They are sitting on thrones. They are getting pictures taken with carvings.”
