Dozens took part in the Colerain Township Fire and EMS water rescue training Tuesday in Cincinnati.

Throughout the morning firefighters took turns being rescued from the water while others helped pull them in to safety. The department holds the training several times a year to make sure they’re prepared for an actual emergency.

“We’ve been training all week on this, just as well as many other departments in the area,” Colerain Township Fire and EMS Lt. Brandon Cable said. “So yeah, it makes us more confident in our abilities and we’ll be able to do that job better,”

If you ever on ice and fall into water, you’re encouraged to not panic. Try to stay afloat and use your voice and hands to grab someone’s attention.
