CANTON, Ohio — The National High School Football Hall of Fame unveiled the 30 football stars that will make up the class of 2024 inductees. It included legends such as former St. Ignatius head coach Chuck Kyle.
“I’m thrilled, are you kidding?,” he said.
Kyle led the Wildcats to 11 state championships and had nearly 400 wins in his 40 years as head coach. Bernie Kosar, Browns legend who began his career at Boardman High School, was inducted into the 2023 class. He was excited for Coach Kyle and the rest of the 2024 class.
“To see the genuine excitement and the awesomeness of this class that’s going in,” he said.
Kyle said he never dreamed of being a part of the National High School Football Hall of Fame, instead he thought he would just be an English teacher. He is honored to be a part of the 2024 class.
“This is such a great honor to be with these guys. It’s wonderful,” he said.
Other stars that are part of the 2024 class included NFL star from Glenville Ted Ginn Jr., St Joseph’s Bob Golic and Steubenville head coach Reno Saccoccia. The class will be enshrined this summer.
