COLUMBUS, Ohio — It was an exciting night for Columbus Crew fans as their beloved soccer team won the 2023 MLS cup against the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

That excitement could be felt as fans rushed out of the stadium. From fireworks to chanting, and everything in between, the streets were flooded with black and gold.

Leading up to the game on Saturday, Crew fans were using the word “massive” to describe this team and what this win would mean.

And that’s exactly what this win was for the City of Columbus.

One Crew fan has been a loyal supporter for almost 30 years. He said the win was a dream come true.

“It’s a thrill. I was a season ticket holder in 1996 and I moved to Arizona that year. I’ve been following the Crew ever since coming back for this game. It was fantastic. A dream come true. And my sons with me. I never dreamed I put that deposit down in 1995 that I’d be here with my son celebrating this win,” said fan Todd Lang.
