OHIO — For a third straight year, Springfield is headed to the Ohio High School Athletic Association football Division I championship game. For a third straight year, the Wildcats beat Moeller in a state semifinal. 

Yes, for a third straight year, Springfield did so in dramatic fashion. After a back-and-forth game, the Wildcats (10-5) outlasted the Crusaders (10-5) 23-16 in overtime. Moeller scored a tying touchdown with just seconds left to force the extra session. Springfield preserved the win with a stop inside the two-yard line on fourth and goal. 

The Wildcats advance to the state championship game against St. Edward.
