CLEVELAND — In this weekend's Browns season opener, fans will find some new features available to them at the Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The team is unveiling new tools to get people into the stadium faster and help them interact during the game.
Dawg tags are QR codes for fans to scan, and they are on every seat in the stadium. Scanning them takes you to a site where you can take photos with Browns filters, look at live stats and even report an incident.
“There used to be game-day programs," said Brent Rossi, Browns SVP of marketing and media. "Now with technology, this type of stuff is replacing that."
Also new this season are Dawg Rewards, where season ticket holders get discounts on merchandise, along with other perks, offers and gifts.
And your phone can now get you and your group in the stadium quicker. The team is implementing facial recognition technology, which will speed up the scanning of your group’s tickets. It just takes a few taps on your phone.
“It’s two steps to enroll," Browns VP of Information Technology Brandon Covert said "You can log in to your ticketing account. You take one photo and you’re done. That is it. Two steps, and you’re ready to go. You can take the picture if you have seven or eight tickets on your account, all your party can enter in here, and they don’t have to do anything.”
The Browns said this is the fastest way in, but even with the facial recognition software, you’ll still have to go through security.
