CLEVELAND — The 11th Congressional District Community Caucus Labor Day Parade & Festival rolled through Cleveland Monday morning.

This annual parade started 51 years ago and this year more than 200 groups participated in this holiday tradition.

Cleveland resident, Linda Rudolph, said she looks forward to this event every year and always brings her three grandsons.

“Like I said, I don’t miss a year, Rudolph said. “Last week I told them, you know, the parade is coming up next week, so they got all excited cause they remember and they be ready for it.” 

Linda’s grandson, Kyler Rudolph, said he loves to come to the parade and spend time with his family.

“We’re here to watch the parade and get some candy,” Kyler said. “We also got our bags, right here, so we can get some candy.” 

This year’s theme was “empowering the people,” to celebrate community and political empowerment.

Congresswoman Shontel Brown was also at the event as the parade’s grand marshal.

Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb was also in attendance.
