Tania Zhaldak is helping transform this room into an exhibit depicting the war in Ukraine.

"I’m from Ukraine and I come here about eight months ago," she said.

Escaping the dangerous conditions with her son, Zhaldak now hopes to spread the message of what’s happening in her home country. That’s why she is ready for this exhibit to open its doors.

"People can look (at) this and understand what is happening in Ukraine, it is very hard for me and my country," she said.

Andrew Fedynsky is the director of the museum and said the photos being hung for the exhibit have a meaning.

"They are all volunteers. Nobody is paid, they are all very dedicated," he said.

Some of these photos show the volunteers on the ground in Ukraine trying to help those in need, and others show the struggles of daily life during war, but Fedynsky said a lot of these photos bring a sense of hope.

"Ukraine will not only survive but also prevail in this war, but its going to take a global effort to do that," he said.
