CINCINNATI — Thousands of die-hard Kings Island Fans are lined up to be the first riders of the amusement park’s 51st season.

What You Need To Know

  • Kings Island is now open Friday through Sunday until May 17, when it's open every day

  • Park officials said if you plan to go more than two days now until Dec. 31, a pass will be a cheaper option

  • For the best prices for single day tickets, go to their website; don't pay at the gate

  • The park is still hiring seasonal employees with pay starting at $15/hour

According to the Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau, about 13.1 million people visited the county in 2022, with many of those attending the park for at least one day. Industry watchers anticipate another strong season despite the weak economy and inflation because many Ohio families are expected to stay in-state for the vacations and including a day at the park.

Kings Island’s communication director, Chad Showalter, has some tips for visitors.

“Come early because the park tends to have more attendance as you move later into the day,” Showalter said.  “If you can get here early, you can get in so many rides before a lot of the guests even arrive for the day.”

Showalter said that if you plan to visit more than two times during the season, it’s more economical to buy a pass.

“For the price of less than two visits, you can come every day between now and Dec. 31 that we’re open and that’s the best value for families,” he said.

Showalter also wants visitors to remember they no longer accept cash for anything inside the park.

“We have kiosks you can convert cash into a card or just bring your visa or Mastercard and we’ll be able to accept those as payment anywhere inside the park,” he said.

If you’re more interested in getting paid by Kings Island as an employee, Showalter said they’re still hiring for the season, with pay ranging from about $15 to more than $18 an hour.

“We’re always excited to welcome anyone from teenagers to people who are retired and looking for something to do or supplemental income,” Showalter said.  “That great, broad, diverse group of associates is one of the special things about Kings Island.”
