She came as part of her "Joining Forces" initiative.

From a classroom visit to a mock in-air ICU demonstration, she made several stops during her visit with a mission of supporting military families.

So far, she’s toured 25 military installations.

Her first stop brought her to a second-grade classroom at Beverly Gardens Elementary School. It’s a Purple Star school with many children connected to Wright-Patterson AFB.

Each year, approximately 200,000 military-connected students in the United States transition into new schools and can face unique challenges, according to the White House.

Next, she hosted a private listening session with military parents and those participating in the Exceptional Family Member Program.

The goal is to see how they can best build support and offer resources.

The final stop took her inside a mock in-air ICU demonstration with flight nurses and specialists at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. About 6,000 students go through the program each year.

The first lady’s visit comes just ahead of the month of April, which is celebrated as the Month of the Military Child.
