TEXAS — The arctic cold front blasting through the Lone Star State beginning Thursday and running through the holiday weekend may not only hinder your daily routines at home but also events you may have planned.
The iconic Austin Trail of Lights at Zilker Park is canceled for the second time this week. The trail remains closed on Thursday, Dec. 22 due to inclement weather. Due to heavy rain on Monday, Zilker Park was too saturated to remain open earlier this week and the trail was also canceled on Tuesday.
The Prairie Lights Holiday Experience at Grand Prairie Parks will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 22 and 23, due to the frosty temperatures. General admission tickets are available for use every night through New Year’s Eve.
The Fort Worth Zoo will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 due to the weather conditions. The zoo will resume normal operating hours on Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Doors will be open on Christmas Day for a shorter timeframe, from noon to 4 p.m.
