CLEVELAND — The votes are in, and Democrat Chris Ronayne will take office as Cuyahoga County Executive following incumbent Armond Budish

Republican Lee Weingart and Democrat Chris Ronayne vied for a seat that hasn’t been vacant in eight years. 

Early after polls closed, Ronayne held a strong lead that nearly doubled Lee Weingart's, his opponent. 

During Ronayne’s acceptance speech, he took the time to thank his friends and supporters and noted that he dedicated his entire campaign to his late mother. Ronayne will take office at the first of the year.
